About the role

  • Manages large national accounts
  • Builds direct client relationships in support of sales efforts through servicing accounts
  • Serves as the primary engineering or architectural lead for national accounts, many of which are AEI’s top clients
  • Maintains a technical review load
  • Manages BARCM deliverables being completed by associate consultants (1099s)
  • Maintains current knowledge of the entitlement/permitting process, construction delivery methods and agreements, as well as construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types
  • Ensures all projects meet the client's goals and scope expectations
  • Builds an in-depth understanding of the client's needs and facilitates the delivery of consulting to meet those needs
  • Provides guidance to in-house operations regarding best practices
  • Maintains and promotes strong and efficient working relationships with internal and external client teams with excellent proactive customer service

Requirements

  • 12+ years of previous relevant experience working on Construction Risk Management projects
  • Previous construction administration, construction management, architecture, or similar experience
  • Previous experience performing Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) and assessing buildings utilizing comprehensive engineering/architectural practices preferred
  • Knowledge and experience assessing various property types (including but not limited to commercial buildings, manufacturing/industrial properties, office buildings from one story to high-rise, strip malls, shopping centers, and multi-family housing properties)
  • Knowledge of the entitlement/permitting process and construction delivery methods and agreements
  • Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types
  • Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD guidelines, and Property Needs Assessments preferred
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for being detail oriented and organized
  • Personable and able to communicate with people at all levels
  • Willingness to travel if necessary
  • Self-starter, resourceful, and the ability to work productively and independently on multiple projects at a time under strict deadlines
