Define and execute sales strategies and tactics to meet or exceed annual sales plans and quotas for pipeline infrastructure products provided by UGS for the Oregon, Washington and Alaska territory.
These products include Fusible PVC® piping, TerraBrute® CR restrained joint PVC piping, Vylon® closed profile PVC piping, and Primus Pipe Liner
Train and manage a Regional Sales Engineer when needed
Generate and qualify leads for subsequent development.
Perform key account planning to identify, develop, and close business opportunities by working closely with consulting engineers, municipal water and wastewater utilities, contractors, waterworks distributors, and electrical utilities to develop successful long-term relationships and continually maintain a professional image of UGS
Develop technical specifications that support product position and facilitate operational efficiency
Ensure all sales activity and opportunities are up to date in Salesforce, our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This data will feed into sales reporting, forecasting, and sales activities
Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the products offered by UGS and document market intelligence, including market size, buying practices and decision makers
Conduct sales calls and make product/service presentations to meet customer needs
Recommend proposal and contract prices. Develop bid strategy, create bid estimates, and close orders
Provide input into development of marketing communications and product portfolio decisions
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual variance reporting to compare actual results against budgets and forecasts
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering preferred
PE license preferred
5 years of experience in technical sales within the water industry, Consulting Engineer in the municipal water market, or Technical Direct Sales
Experienced with Salesforce, or other CRM, and expertise with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Must be competitive, goal-oriented self-motivated, good listener and manage time wisely
Must be able to process complex information and unique client needs quickly, as well as interact with all levels within an organization
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to persuade, motivate and empower clients and co-workers to action
Must be a strong communicator able to take initiative and be disciplined to function independently
Must be able to travel to clients and vendor site at least 50% of the time
