About the role
- Perform engineering studies and technical evaluations for selected AEG product solutions
- Develop and maintain general arrangement (footprint) and detailed assembly drawings (2D/3D)
- Define and manage interfaces and connections between components and systems
- Conduct environmental and seismic studies, including theoretical calculations and laboratory testing
- Apply EMC design principles in mechanical engineering where relevant
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, manufacturing drawings, and assembly instructions
- Collaborate with internal departments including R&D, Application Engineering, Project Management, and Sales
- Provide technical support to Project Management and Sales, including participation in customer or consultant meetings as required
- Collect and consolidate all technical information necessary to complete designs according to project schedules
- Make mechanical design decisions supported by calculations and relevant standards for project-specific configuration or customization of standard products
- Review project specifications and propose the most cost-effective and compliant design solutions
- Prepare technical specifications for subcontractors and suppliers for quotation purposes
- Compile parts lists and bills of materials (BOM)
- Identify required components and prepare purchase requisitions
- Ensure all engineering work complies with NPP standards such as RCC-E or equivalent
- Support cross-functional teams in producing customer-facing documentation as required by project specifications and schedules
- Maintain proficiency with mechanical design tools (Solid Edge, SAP) and basic electrical design knowledge (e.g., single line diagrams)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable industrial role, preferably in mechanical design and construction for power supply or energy systems
- Proficiency in Solid Edge and SAP
- Basic knowledge of electrical design (single line diagrams, interfaces, etc.)
- Experience with environmental and seismic analysis (calculations and/or laboratory tests)
- Understanding of EMC design principles
- Ability to interpret and create 2D/3D assembly and manufacturing drawings
- Strong ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams
- Good technical German and English skills (written and spoken)
