About the role

  • As a Project Engineer – Building Services / Energy Systems | SaaS (m/f/d), your mission is to ensure our IoT solutions make buildings measurably more energy-efficient and sustainable.
  • You will support customer projects from implementation through to operational optimization.
  • Combine technical understanding with structured project management and play a key role in sustainably reducing CO₂ emissions in the building sector.
  • Learn to manage complex customer projects independently, supported by experienced colleagues.
  • Build solid expertise in building services, IoT systems and project management and develop into a sought-after expert at the interface of engineering, sustainability and customer relations.
  • Analyze operational building data, identify energy-saving opportunities and derive clear, actionable recommendations.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in building services engineering, energy systems, mechanical engineering, supply engineering or a comparable technical qualification provides the foundation for this role.
  • Basic understanding of technical building equipment gained through internships, working student roles or initial professional experience — willingness to learn is more important than years of experience.
  • Strong ability to explain technical concepts clearly and to communicate at different levels, from technical teams to executive management.
  • Structured, solution-oriented approach with the ability to set priorities, work independently and proactively seek support when necessary.
  • Confident use of digital tools and willingness to quickly learn new systems such as IoT platforms, project management tools (Jira, Confluence) or energy management systems.
  • Fluent German and English (C1) spoken and written for effective communication with customers and the international team.
Benefits
  • Make an impact: Your work helps reduce CO₂ emissions and makes buildings more sustainable and energy-efficient.
  • Mobile work: Shape your working day according to your needs – flexible working hours, a short core time and the freedom to work from our modern office in Cologne, remotely anywhere in Germany, or up to 10 days per year from another European country.
  • Long-term prospects: After the probationary period, we offer a permanent employment contract.

  • Professional development: We support you with tailored training opportunities to advance your career.
  • Tech stack: Modern work equipment of your choice – Microsoft or Apple – plus high-quality noise-cancelling headphones for focused work.
  • Mobility package: Always mobile – choose between the Germany public transport pass (Deutschland-Ticket) or a company bike (JobRad) for commuting or private use.
  • Financial security: Subsidies for capital-forming benefits (VWL) or company pension scheme (bAV).
  • #teamaedifion: Regular team events, working on an equal footing, active knowledge sharing and flat hierarchies foster strong collaboration and open communication in our team.
  • Dog-friendly office: Bring your dog – we welcome canine companions.
