About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee HR activities on the project and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Act as the single point of contact for employees and managers assigned to the Joint Venture projects.
  • Support the rollout of employee development and engagement programs.
  • Lead a project-based Human Resources team.
  • Manage project recruitment tracker and hiring schedule.
  • Provide headcount projection and strategic workforce planning support.
  • Conduct compensation impact analyses and collaborate on disability cases.
  • Provide effective situation and conflict management and proactive HR communications support.
  • Support managers with performance management and objective setting during cycles.
  • Facilitate talent reviews and ensure training needs are evaluated and addressed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Post-secondary school education in Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in an HR Business Partner function, with preference for people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated partnership with senior leaders.
  • Consultative decision-making and hands-on employee relations support experience.
  • Versatility and full scope HR portfolio capability (end-to-end employee life cycle).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
  • Previous experience working on a Joint Venture major project is a strong asset.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, with willingness to frequently travel to project sites within Ontario.
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to create valuable solutions quickly.
  • Tactful and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build consensus among peers.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and HRIS knowledge; SAP, SuccessFactors, and Workday are assets.
