About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee HR activities on the project and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Act as the single point of contact for employees and managers assigned to the Joint Venture projects.
- Support the rollout of employee development and engagement programs.
- Lead a project-based Human Resources team.
- Manage project recruitment tracker and hiring schedule.
- Provide headcount projection and strategic workforce planning support.
- Conduct compensation impact analyses and collaborate on disability cases.
- Provide effective situation and conflict management and proactive HR communications support.
- Support managers with performance management and objective setting during cycles.
- Facilitate talent reviews and ensure training needs are evaluated and addressed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-secondary school education in Human Resources Management.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in an HR Business Partner function, with preference for people leadership experience.
- Demonstrated partnership with senior leaders.
- Consultative decision-making and hands-on employee relations support experience.
- Versatility and full scope HR portfolio capability (end-to-end employee life cycle).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
- Previous experience working on a Joint Venture major project is a strong asset.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, with willingness to frequently travel to project sites within Ontario.
- Superior problem-solving skills and ability to create valuable solutions quickly.
- Tactful and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build consensus among peers.
- Accurate and detail-oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office and HRIS knowledge; SAP, SuccessFactors, and Workday are assets.
