About the role
- Under minimal supervision, design medium to complex mechanical / piping systems using 2D and 3D design tools.
- The successful candidate fully understands the process of design development, preparing drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
- The successful candidate shall be knowledgeable in the design of plant mechanical and piping systems, able to develop piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings (GA), details, equipment plan, piping orthographic and isometric drawings.
- The successful candidate will have a good understanding of engineer’s design development process.
- The mechanical/piping designer fully understands the purpose and use of vendor documents and reviews mechanical supplier documents for accuracy.
- Help coordinate mechanical/piping design activities work with other discipline groups.
Requirements
- College or university degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of North American experience in Mechanical Engineering and Design.
- Experience with industry standard engineering software such as Plant3D, REVIT, ACC, BluBeam.
- The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and be capable of collaborating with the multi-discipline engineers and designers.
