About the role
- Play a pivotal role in managing and guiding multidisciplinary design coordination activities across civil and structural works.
- Support and provide leadership to the Design Manager in overseeing daily design coordination activities.
- Lead civil/structural constructability reviews of ONxpress design packages.
- Manage and prioritize submittals, RFIs, design documents, and coordination deliverables for timely review and approval.
- Proactively identify design risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues affecting project success.
- Identify opportunities for early works based on third-party interfaces and collaborate with the Design Manager and Construction teams.
- Champion integration with the Integrated Digital Delivery team to enhance design management and construction planning processes.
- Foster collaboration between design and construction teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Monitor project progress by tracking deliverables, managing schedules, and providing status updates to management.
- Mentor and support junior design coordinators, promoting continuous learning and best practices.
Requirements
- University or College Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in design coordination within large, complex infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a construction or project delivery environment.
- Proven expertise in civil and structural works; experience in transportation sectors (rail & transit, aviation, ports) is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary coordination processes and constructability reviews.
- Strong organization, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, large-scale project environment.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligibility for licensure is an asset.
