About the role
- Prepare Engineering Change Packages including but not limited to wiring diagrams and schematics, P&IDs, logic diagrams, instrument hookups, etc. for plant modification packages including digital upgrades
- Prepare specifications for control of plant process/auxiliary systems
- Prepare and review logic diagrams and system functional descriptions for implementation of system control logic into plant control systems
- Evaluate and specify pressure, temperature, flow, and level process instrumentation
- Perform engineering calculations for a nuclear plant such as instrument set-points, electrical loading changes, etc.
- Candidates will support multiple projects and support coordination of activities with clients, contractors, vendors and other members of the project teams.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering from an accredited 4-year university
- 5 years overall experience in design, operations or field service/support for power plants or heavy industrial facilities
- 3 years of experience relating to design of operating nuclear power plants in the U.S.
- Familiarity with nuclear standard design process.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design and analysis.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with nuclear regulations and industry standards
- Experience to include leading a team of engineers and technicians and training/mentoring junior staff
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to interface with other members of the project team including other disciplines, client, contractors and vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expertise using Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to obtain unescorted access to nuclear plants and other facilities requiring background checks.
- Field experience at an operating nuclear plant
