About the role
- The Design and Construction Coordination Support/Document Control team member coordinates activities between Civil Infrastructure Engineering, design, and construction management teams to ensure alignment across construction packages.
- The role manages and tracks reviews of RFIs, NCRs, QMDPs, Bridge Quality Assessment Reports, and Design Variance Requests, serving as the primary point of contact at construction offices.
- They lead submittal review meetings, maintain organized project documentation, and ensure all records are properly archived within a systematic document control process.
- Reviews engineering submittals, review comments, and responses between Engineering, Final Design, Construction, and Project Development teams to ensure comments are complete and compliant with high-speed rail requirements.
- Participates in engineering meetings representing the Engineering team.
- Provides project status updates and tracks activities for weekly and monthly reporting, including maintaining tracker logs.
- Develops and maintains a systematic and organized document control system.
- Coordinates technical submittals, including Requests for Information (RFI), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Quality Milestone Data Packages (QMDP), Bridge Quality Assessment Reports, and Design Variance Requests (DVR), including reviews and directives among Engineering, Construction Services, and PCM Engineering staff.
- Facilitates communication between Engineering and PCM engineering staff.
- Communicates Engineering processes and policies.
- Participates in over-the-shoulder meetings, draft DVR meetings, and issue resolution meetings.
- Assists in the preparation of bulletins, memoranda, policies, and procedures.
- Represents the Engineering team in support of functional branches.
Requirements
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- This individual shall have experience in the construction and engineering industry with preference in Design Build, Rail, Transit and Civil Engineering and at least 5+ years of civil experience
- Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Degree in construction management, engineering, or other closely related previous experience
- Strong project and/or construction management background
- Knowledge of design Build Transportation Projects, with an emphasis in structures.
- Ability to understand structural and/or civil engineering design and construction, understand construction related contracts, understand the design-build environment
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to take the initiative and responsibility to effectively work remotely including providing information to staff, delivery partners, and others via telephone, email and various virtual tools
