About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide efficient, high-quality service to patients arriving for appointments or contacting the clinic by telephone or in person
Schedule appointments and provide information about tests, procedures, bills, charges, referrals, and other matters
Enter billing information for patients and payers at the time of service
Follow up accurately on missing billing information
Maintain accurate and timely medical records according to practice and medical group standards
Support providers and connect with patients as part of the ambulatory care team
Rotate between clinic locations in Lutheran General, Park Ridge, Glenview, Des Plaines, and Buffalo Grove
Work rotating 8.5-hour shifts, including a lunch, within clinic hours of 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent
One to two years of related customer service experience
Experience handling difficult callers, customers, or patients
Ability to function in a high-volume, multitask environment
Ability to work in a crowded or closely shared workspace
Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers
Ability to work around exposure to ill patients
Must lift up to 35 pounds without help
For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when a patient cannot assist, use patient-handling equipment with at least one other associate when available
Must be available Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
