About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate laboratory, patient, financial, and quality data to identify trends and insights that improve workflows, support research, inform business decisions, and reduce cost of care
  • Leverage integrated data sources to identify improvement opportunities, performance gaps, and outcome measures
  • Design and implement analytical models combining clinical, financial, and claims data to generate actionable metrics
  • Synthesize complex datasets into insights supporting leadership decision-making and lab stewardship initiatives
  • Develop executive-level dashboards and reporting for laboratory strategy and performance monitoring
  • Apply technical laboratory knowledge, including test build and clinical utility, in a data-driven environment
  • Participate in assessments, implementations, and educational efforts supporting laboratory operations and data initiatives
  • Use data-driven methodologies to support Clinical Lab 2.0 and value-based care programs
  • Support enterprise-wide data collection, analysis, and implementation across laboratory operations and ad hoc initiatives
  • Collaborate with service lines, corporate departments, leadership, physicians, researchers, and laboratory teams across the enterprise
  • Adhere to organizational policies, compliance requirements, and Code of Ethical Conduct

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • Typically requires 3 or more years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of laboratory workflows, testing knowledge, and diagnostic pathways
  • Experience with data collection, validation, and analysis
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as CLIA, CAP, and HIPAA
  • Proficiency in clinical laboratory operations and data analysis tools including SQL, Excel, Power BI, HL7, and Python
  • Knowledge of LIS and EHR systems
  • Working knowledge of revenue cycle processes, billing, and coding, including CPT and ICD-10
  • Ability to collaborate with researchers to collect, validate, and de-identify complex datasets
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated collaboration with physicians and leadership
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Self-directed, results-oriented, innovative, highly organized, proactive, and adaptable
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification through ASCP or AMT preferred
  • Additional certifications in billing and coding, project management, or business analysis preferred
  • Experience with research study processes, IRB protocols, and clinical data validation preferred
  • Ability to work in a normal office environment and operate standard equipment
  • Appropriate protective measures required when potentially exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, infectious, or biological hazards
