About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide 100% adult inpatient medicine services through virtual admissions, inpatient rounding, and cross-coverage responsibilities
  • Utilize Advocate Health’s virtual care platform to provide remote clinical support across multiple Greater Charlotte Region hospitals
  • Collaborate closely with Hospital Medicine physicians, bedside APPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Perform comprehensive admission history and physical examinations for adult hospitalized patients
  • Conduct virtual inpatient rounding and follow-up assessments
  • Document all patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and clinical decisions accurately within the electronic medical record
  • Coordinate patient care with physicians, bedside APPs, nursing staff, consultants, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, case management, and ancillary departments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Nurse Practitioners must hold a Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or AGACNP) board certification
  • Physician Assistants must hold certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina
  • Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) certification must be valid at least 90 days beyond start date
  • Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or other acute inpatient experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform thorough history and physical assessments
  • Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience utilizing Epic electronic medical record preferred.
