About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide 100% adult inpatient medicine services through virtual admissions, inpatient rounding, and cross-coverage responsibilities
Utilize Advocate Health’s virtual care platform to provide remote clinical support across multiple Greater Charlotte Region hospitals
Collaborate closely with Hospital Medicine physicians, bedside APPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary care teams
Perform comprehensive admission history and physical examinations for adult hospitalized patients
Conduct virtual inpatient rounding and follow-up assessments
Document all patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and clinical decisions accurately within the electronic medical record
Coordinate patient care with physicians, bedside APPs, nursing staff, consultants, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, case management, and ancillary departments

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Nurse Practitioners must hold a Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or AGACNP) board certification
Physician Assistants must hold certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina
Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license
BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) certification must be valid at least 90 days beyond start date
Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or other acute inpatient experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills
Ability to perform thorough history and physical assessments
Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience utilizing Epic electronic medical record preferred.
