Key responsibilities & impact

Supervises the assigned functional area of patient accounting operations
Ensures timely, accurate, compliant, and efficient processing of bills
Responsible for operating within budget limitations and authorized staffing levels
Assesses employee training needs and coordinates with the training department
Initiates and implements improvements to billing systems and processes
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding billing and collections
Functions as a liaison with providers and external departments related to the revenue cycle
Conducts ongoing evaluation of department policies and procedures
Responsible for adhering to productivity and quality standards of department
Performs human resources responsibilities for staff, including coaching on performance and performance reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need

Typically requires 3 - 5 years of experience in Healthcare Billing
3 to 5 years of experience in patient accounts, medical billing or collections within a healthcare setting
Supervisory experience of 3 to 5 years in a billing or accounts receivable department
Experience with healthcare regulations, such as HIPPA
Hands-on experience with patient billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
