About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Directs and oversees the safe and compliant planning, operation, repair, maintenance and testing of heating/cooling, power plant, electrical, emergency power, fire protection systems, plumbing, grounds, and carpentry within the assigned area/market sites
- Implements departmental operating expense budget and assures budget is maintained within acceptable parameters for each assigned site
- Directly responsible for development of capital infrastructure budgets, short-term and long-term (5 years) for sites within area
- Responsible for maintaining approved capital infrastructure projects within budget
- Collaborates with Planning, Design, and Construction to ensure conditions of plans and specifications / standards are met for construction projects
- Oversees an accurate computer maintenance management system (CMMS) that records, stores, and retrieves repair, maintenance, and construction activities for all facilities in the region
- Collaborates with the Energy Management Team to develop short and long-term hospital energy plans to support hospital sustainability programs
- Responsible for the regulatory compliance and appropriate policies and procedures to assure compliance applicable to federal, state, and local ordinances / building codes
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in engineering, facility maintenance, or related field
- Ten (10) years minimum work experience in facilities functions
- Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Industry certifications and/or license specific to area of responsibility may include: Certified Health Care Facility Manager (CHFM), Professional Engineer, Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Excellent skills in mobile technology, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling software, accounting spreadsheets, computerized maintenance management and building automation
- Knowledge of construction, planning, mechanical, HVAC and electrical design and operation
- Understanding of Environment of Care / regulatory environment
