Capital Equipment Manager – Imaging
Advocate Aurora HealthCapital Equipment Manager managing imaging technology decisions and acquisitions for Advocate Health's clinical needs. Ensuring regulatory compliance and collaborating with stakeholders for equipment standards.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess clinical technologies and equipment performance to identify opportunities for standardization, consolidation, and improvement
- Conducts cost-benefit analyses and total cost of ownership evaluations for new and replacement technologies
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure technology decisions align with clinical needs, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
- Participate in Enterprise Equipment Standards Committees for assigned verticals
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and vendor offerings
- Aid in facilitating conversations and connecting with the Medical Sourcing teams on contracting needs
- Support the development and maintenance of a multi-year capital equipment replacement plan for all fleet clinical equipment
- Work with Finance and stakeholders to align replacement schedules with capital budgets
- Serve as project manager for major equipment acquisitions, upgrades, and buyouts
- Negotiate bulk purchase of equipment above and beyond Advocate contract pricing
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including clinicians, IT, facilities, and vendors to ensure successful implementation and integration
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and deliverables; monitor progress and resolve issues to ensure on-time, on-budget completion
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5-years in Clinical Engineering, Supply Chain, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Advance Training in Clinical Engineering, Supply Chain, Nursing, or Healthcare Administration
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with a variety of professionals
- Advanced interpersonal skills to effectively form collaborative relationships with peers
- Excellent written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical skills to make sound decisions and recommendations based on data analysis
- Flexibility to deal with a changing environment
- Self-directed and independent decision-making capabilities
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints
