About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee daily operations of patient service areas
  • Educate and update staff on changes relevant to their roles
  • Manage supplies by ordering within budget guidelines
  • Assess staffing needs and communicate requirements to leadership
  • Provide leadership and support to patient services staff
  • Create and adjust staff schedules for efficiency
  • Assist with financial processes including cash reconciliation
  • Support HR functions such as interviewing and onboarding
  • Ensure accurate patient registration and maintain HIPAA compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in either Patient Access or any related experience such as general physician office support or billing office, insurance office, customer service/hospitality, or call center
  • Effective leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Technical proficiency with healthcare systems, including EPIC, insurance verification tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
