About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide patient care 36 hours per week, including four hours per week co-treating with a faculty mentor
  • Attend weekly lecture and lab sessions as well as directed learning activities
  • Monitor and evaluate outcomes and appropriately adjust the individualized treatment plan
  • Plan for and complete patient discharge including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, referral for community services
  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to assist in achieving optimum care for the patient
  • Manage assigned caseload, informing site leadership of coverage needs and ability to cover
  • Pursue professional growth through participation in continuing education courses, department in-services, and reading professional literature

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduated from a CAPTE-accredited PT program
  • New graduates with a demonstrated interest in orthopaedic physical therapy are eligible to apply
  • Post-entry level clinical experience in outpatient physical therapy is desirable
  • License to practice physical therapy in the state that you are working in: Georgia; North Carolina; or Wisconsin
  • Active member of the APTA and Orthopedic section
  • CPR certification
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to learning
