About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Directs and oversees the safe and compliant planning, operation, repair, maintenance and testing of heating/cooling, power plant, electrical, emergency power, fire protection systems, plumbing, grounds, and carpentry within the assigned area/market sites
Implements departmental operating expense budget and assures budget is maintained within acceptable parameters for each assigned site
Directly responsible for development of capital infrastructure budgets
Collaborates with Planning, Design, and Construction to ensure conditions of plans and specifications/standards are met for construction projects
Oversees an accurate computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
Collaborates with the Energy Management Team to develop short and long-term hospital energy plans
Responsible for regulatory compliance and appropriate policies and procedures to assure compliance applicable to federal, state, and local ordinances/building codes
Provides leadership that supports a facilities training program that develops teammate growth and maintains consistency of training for specific certifications and skill sets to support a highly expertise work force

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate degree in engineering, facility maintenance, or related field
Ten (10) years minimum work experience in facilities functions
Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare environment
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Exceptional oral and written communications and team building skills
Excellent skills in mobile technology, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling software, accounting spreadsheets, computerized maintenance management and building automation
Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local codes governing facilities operations and facilities safety
Knowledge of construction, planning, mechanical, HVAC and electrical design and operation
Project management skills
Process improvement skills
