About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Directs and oversees the safe and compliant planning, operation, repair, maintenance and testing of heating/cooling, power plant, electrical, emergency power, fire protection systems, plumbing, grounds, and carpentry within the assigned area/market sites
- Implements departmental operating expense budget and assures budget is maintained within acceptable parameters for each assigned site
- Directly responsible for development of capital infrastructure budgets
- Collaborates with Planning, Design, and Construction to ensure conditions of plans and specifications/standards are met for construction projects
- Oversees an accurate computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Collaborates with the Energy Management Team to develop short and long-term hospital energy plans
- Responsible for regulatory compliance and appropriate policies and procedures to assure compliance applicable to federal, state, and local ordinances/building codes
- Provides leadership that supports a facilities training program that develops teammate growth and maintains consistency of training for specific certifications and skill sets to support a highly expertise work force
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in engineering, facility maintenance, or related field
- Ten (10) years minimum work experience in facilities functions
- Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Exceptional oral and written communications and team building skills
- Excellent skills in mobile technology, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling software, accounting spreadsheets, computerized maintenance management and building automation
- Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local codes governing facilities operations and facilities safety
- Knowledge of construction, planning, mechanical, HVAC and electrical design and operation
- Project management skills
- Process improvement skills
