About the role
- Develop and implement a multi-year technology roadmap for both strategic and operational technologies, partnering with the NCCT’s Senior Leadership Team to position technology as a competitive advantage.
- Oversee the management and optimization of critical technology systems, such as Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), electronic data capture (EDC) systems, databases, and electronic regulatory (eReg) systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data entry, integration, and interoperability between clinical systems, research databases and repositories.
- Maintain compliance with data privacy, protection and security requirements, ensuring all IT systems and protocols adhere to industry standards & regulations.
- Co-lead harmonization efforts across Operations and Technology departments to ensure cohesive integration of processes and systems / tech solutions.
- Monitor the performance of IT systems and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, using data-driven insights to guide improvements and strategic planning.
- Assess the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management on actions and investments in technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Typically requires 10 years in IT leadership roles within healthcare or clinical research with progressive leadership experience.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical systems (e.g., EHR, CTMS, EDC, ePRO, eReg) and infrastructure, including cloud-based applications and storage.
- Expertise in strategic planning, tech roadmap development, and implementation.
- Previous working experience navigating within large, matrixed organizations as well as early stage or startup environments a plus.
- Deep understanding of current and emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy, security).
- Proficient in data acquisition, verification, integration, and cybersecurity.
