About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Bring outside context into the team, including customer feedback, support trends, usage data and competitive landscape
Write clear problem statements for product engineers
Track outcomes after features ship
Maintain the Jira backlog, draft new items, and retire stale ones
Draft problem statements and acceptance criteria for new tickets
Run backlog grooming sessions with product engineers
Bring the rationale into sprint planning and set sprint goals with the lead and product engineers
Surface new signals that may shift priorities and work through trade-offs before mid-sprint changes
Shape and sequence the roadmap with the lead and engineers
Own decisions about which problems are worth solving
Join sprint reviews and demos to evaluate delivered work against the original problem

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role
Real day-to-day ownership of a backlog
Hands-on Jira experience, including writing tickets and running or co-running grooming sessions
Experience working closely with engineers rather than handing off finished specifications
Strong plain-language writing skills for problem statements and acceptance criteria
Technical fluency to follow trade-off conversations and ask relevant questions
Experience prioritising under pressure, including saying no and explaining why
Curiosity about the reasons behind customer and business problems
Familiarity with Notion, Mixpanel, or Amplitude for tracking post-launch outcomes
Direct customer-facing experience, such as support, sales engineering, customer success, or research
