About the role

  • Design and deploy secure, high-density Cisco wireless networks in healthcare environments ensuring coverage, capacity, performance, and compliance
  • Conduct predictive and validation wireless surveys using Ekahau Pro and Sidekick to optimize RF designs and verify post-deployment performance
  • Analyze wireless network behavior and troubleshoot roaming, interference, latency, and connectivity using Wireshark and wireless packet captures
  • Implement and manage QoS policies to prioritize mission-critical wireless applications including VoIP, video conferencing, and medical telemetry
  • Troubleshoot RF challenges in complex clinical environments including x-ray rooms, elevator shafts, and lead-lined spaces
  • Design and support Cisco Spaces for real-time location services, asset tracking, and environmental telemetry
  • Deploy and manage Cradlepoint LTE solutions for primary and backup WAN connectivity
  • Integrate and maintain wireless infrastructure within Cisco Catalyst Center for centralized configuration, monitoring, and assurance
  • Document wireless architectures, RF plans, configurations, standards, and support procedures
  • Collaborate with clinical, facilities, security, and technical teams to align solutions with healthcare operational and regulatory requirements
  • Provide Tier 3 support and contribute to operational excellence in a 24/7 patient-care environment

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting enterprise Cisco wireless networks
  • Experience in complex medical environments including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and multi-story clinical offices
  • Proficiency with Ekahau software (Ekahau Pro) and Sidekick
  • Advanced wireless certification (CWNP or CCNP Wireless)
  • Required certifications: CWNP, CWDP, CWSP, Cisco ENWLSD (CCNP WIRELESS)
  • Expertise in QoS and packet capture analysis using Wireshark
  • Experience with high-density wireless design and RF behavior in healthcare (x-ray shielding, elevator shafts, dense medical equipment, lead-lined spaces)
  • Experience with Cradlepoint LTE deployment and management
  • Experience with Cisco Spaces for asset tracking, RTLS and telemetry
  • Experience integrating and maintaining wireless infrastructure with Cisco Catalyst Center
  • Ability to provide Tier 3 support in a 24/7 patient-care environment
  • Ability to collaborate with clinical, facilities, security, and technical teams
