About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the technical development and implementation of features across Home, Learn, and related web experiences, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and partner engineering teams
Drive front-end and backend development across the full stack, ensuring cohesive, performant, and accessible user experiences and systems
Mentor and guide engineers on the team, setting the standard on code quality, architectural thinking, and engineering guidelines
Implement innovative methodologies, rapidly prototype ideas and adopt new technologies to ensure outstanding results
Maintain a laser focus on performance, scalability, elegant architecture, and code quality
Ensure high availability and stability of the services and experiences you build
Approach challenges with a collaborative perspective to find solutions.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Over 10 years of software development experience
Strong proficiency in front-end technologies including React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
Experience with backend technologies including Node.js, Express, RESTful API development, and GraphQL, AWS or other cloud platforms
Experience with modern build tools, bundlers, and front-end performance optimization techniques
Familiarity with monitoring and telemetry tools like New Relic, Splunk, etc.
Strong understanding of build systems, component architecture, and responsive/accessible web development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across teams
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., AI-native IDEs like Cursor or Claude Code) to accelerate implementation, testing, and debugging workflows
A passion for learning, hard work, and having fun while doing it all.
