About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review of Balance of Plant (BoP) design, drawing, and document submissions from sub contractors against industry best practice, law, international, and local standards.
  • Support power system studies to define wind farm generator performance standards and develop the wind farm control system functional design specification.
  • Simulation and modeling of the wind Power Plant including WTG, PV, and storage.
  • Research and prepare formal responses to inquiries regarding wind farm technical performance.
  • Ensure grid connection deliverables required to be submitted by Vestas are provided in a timely, safe and high-quality manner.
  • Assessing the performance, efficiency, and reliability of the balance of plant systems specific to renewable energy projects.
  • Identifying and resolving issues and inefficiencies within the balance of plant systems.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure grid connection issues are resolved promptly.
  • Engage and manage consultants when required.
  • Attend and provide input to various safety, design, technical, and risk meetings, workshops, and reviews.
  • Documentation and Reporting- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and document all grid connection activities, milestones, and outcomes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Electrical engineering (power systems knowledge) with a minimum of 3-4 years' experience.
  • Registered or Certified Professional Engineer (RPEng or CPEng) preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in working together with international stakeholders.
  • Must have experience with PSCAD, PSSe, and/or Powerfactory.
  • Experience in the electricity generation sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Experience in wind and or other renewable industries is preferred.
