About the role

  • The Contract Management function protects Vestas' commercial interests during the construction phase.
  • During the construction phase of new wind farms, we perform core tasks and support the project team with proactive and continuous advice and recommendations on commercial and contractual matters affecting project execution in terms of safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • For individual construction projects, Contract Management provides direct contract management support to the project team.
  • The Contract Manager also coordinates with internal departments, including Legal and Finance, Sales, and Bid Management.
  • Provide commercial and contractual support during the construction phase of new wind farms, including advising internal stakeholders on turbine supply agreements.
  • Enforce claims against clients and subcontractors and lead negotiations with these parties.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes for creating, filing, and documenting correspondence and records.
  • Responsible for damage and claims management, including assessing potential damage scenarios, deriving recommendations, and drafting formal correspondence.
  • Contribute to risk management (ONS) by identifying and assessing contractual risks.
  • Capture and analyze contract-related insights to contribute to the optimization and further development of contract structures.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and management to ensure effective implementation of contractual obligations.

Requirements

  • University degree in Law, Business, Engineering, or Construction (Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent)
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in contract or project management of construction or mechanical engineering projects — ideally with clients, contractors, or engineering firms
  • Solid knowledge of construction and energy contracts, preferably with experience in power plant projects (FIDIC or EPCI advantageous)
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% and a strong cost and safety awareness
  • Strong methodological, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a structured, independent way of working
  • Team player with intercultural awareness and excellent communication skills at all levels — both internal and external
