About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Accept referrals and maintain a client load of at least 15 clinical hours per week
- Counsel clients individually and/or in family sessions regarding dependencies, life adjustment, and personal change
- Make internal referrals to IOP when there is little to no improvement within 8 weeks of outpatient therapy
- Guide clients in developing skills and strategies to address their problems
- Develop and implement treatment plans with SMART goals within 72 hours after intake
- Update and modify treatment plans every 4 weeks
- Complete and maintain client paperwork, diagnostic records, progress notes, treatment records, and reports
- Complete progress notes within 48 hours after every session
- Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition based on client information
- Collaborate with staff on clinical assessments and treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care
- Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists as necessary
- Stay current in counseling developments through professional literature, courses, seminars, and contact with social service agencies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Two years of professional-level experience in a counselor setting
- Current and active license to practice behavioral health in Louisiana: LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
- Minimum client load of 15 clinical hours per week
- Applicants with grief experience given priority
- Preferred: 2+ years of healthcare experience with oncology
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in telehealth settings
