About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversight of design, build, development and cost control of tooling related to the injection molding process.
Interact with customers, injection molding department, internal mold shop, external suppliers, and sub-contractors.
Oversee, track, and coordinate tool design and build including program kickoff, engineering changes, repair jobs, and customer transfer molds.
Develops tool design concept with tool designers and other members of engineering and production team.
Lead cross-functional Design Review(s) to ensure customer and production requirements are satisfied.
Coordinate and establish accurate timelines and progress reports for tool build(s), sampling activities or other engineering activities.
Track and monitor engineering portion of mold tooling projects against quoted assumptions.
Liaison between internal departments including, but not limited to, Quality, Molding, Process Engineering, Tool Room, Shipping, and Scheduling.
Coordinates mold samples required to qualify new tools and the first article inspection.
Ensures mold qualification requirements and customers mold approval needs are met.
Communicates with customer and is the key interface between ADDMAN and customer.
Participates in Customer meetings pertaining to tooling programs.
Coordinates both corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
Provides engineering support of day-to-day production and operations needs.
Must be able to use CAD to review tool designs.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
1-3 years of relevant experience in injection mold design and build
3D CAD Skills
SolidWorks is preferable
GD&T knowledge and ability to analyze and understand customer part prints
Ability to use statistical methods to analyze process capability
Computer Literate with experience using Microsoft Office software such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as application specific software.
Must be able to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
