About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the Application Development team of six .NET developers building and maintaining custom applications, integrations, and internal tooling
Drive hands-on adoption of AI coding tools, including Claude and GitHub Copilot
Establish standards, validation practices, benchmarks, and workflows for AI-assisted development
Coach developers on AI prompting, tool integration, and AI-native workflows
Serve as the internal subject matter expert on AI-assisted .NET development and partner with the Director of IT on broader AI initiatives
Directly manage six .NET developers, including performance reviews, goal-setting, career development, coaching, 1:1s, and stand-ups
Own the application development backlog and release calendar across AHS, Praxis Health, and Interpath Laboratory
Scope, estimate, track, document, and deliver projects while managing competing priorities and resourcing conflicts
Provide technical direction for the .NET application stack, architecture, code quality, development standards, code reviews, and QA processes
Evaluate AI-native approaches including code-generation pipelines, AI-assisted testing, automated documentation, and LLM-integrated features
Ensure development practices meet healthcare IT security requirements, including HIPAA safeguards, PHI handling, audit trails, and access controls
Act as primary IT liaison for clinical, laboratory, revenue cycle, and operational stakeholders
Collaborate with Infrastructure and IT Support Managers on deployments, environment management, and production escalations
Partner with the Director of IT on roadmap planning, capacity analysis, and resource strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software development experience in .NET, including C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server
2+ years in a team lead, tech lead, or people management role with direct reports
Demonstrated hands-on production experience using AI coding tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent
Clear point of view on AI-assisted development, with examples and opinions for the interview
Experience managing software delivery in a healthcare or regulated industry environment
Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical work to non-technical clinical and operational stakeholders
Must reside in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho
Preferred: experience with HL7 or clinical data exchange
Preferred: familiarity with HIPAA technical safeguards and PHI handling requirements
Preferred: experience building or integrating LLM-powered features
Preferred: exposure to SSRS or Power BI
Preferred: background supporting multi-entity or multi-site healthcare organizations
Manual dexterity for computer and office machine operation; ability to stoop, bend, complete errands, and sit for extended periods
