About the role
- Responsible for product development from concept through production
- Leads electro-mechanical product design and/or redesign
- Conducts pilot/pre-production runs
- Initiates and develops concepts for new products
- Support Better, Smarter, Faster & Lean Transformation efforts as a Kaizen team participant
- Reviews functional specifications, project charters and competitors’ samples
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 to 5 years
- Proficient use of 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and PLM software (preferably Windchill)
- Proficient in LEAN methodology and practices
- Possess understanding of manufacturing methods such as stamping, drawing, casting, extruding of metals and plastics
- Knowledge of UL / CSA and testing processes is a plus
