About the role
- Design and develop emergency lighting products/circuitry, emergency lighting, low frequency inverters, and other new products relating to lighting electronics, including controls, and interface circuitry.
- Effectively assist in implementation and distribution of new products to manufacturing.
- Guide and direct design of PCBs, enclosures, packaging, and/or related equipment.
- Application of power electronics, switch-mode power supply circuit design, and electronics for lighting, including design of voltage, current, and power regulators, and analog & digital controls.
- Perform feasibility studies for new technologies, components and new product ideas, pre-development, and product development from conception to initial production.
- Application of batteries including Ni-Cad and Lithium based batteries such as LiFePO4.
- Conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering
- Candidates with all levels of experience will be considered (new graduates, early career, industry experience, etc.)
- Experienced Power Electronics design & development.
- Ability to conduct research, quickly learn, and adapt new technologies applied toward the design of new products.
- Skilled at hands-on bench-top design of power electronics products.
- Requires strong electronics lab skills and use of electronic test equipment.
- Strong Electrical Engineering skills.
- Experienced with Schematic and PCB design tools particularly Altium Designer.
- Ability to work with a team in a matrix organization and interact with and contribute to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to use personal computers: spreadsheets, word processing software particularly Microsoft Office, drawing packages, etc.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills and good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a project and balance innovation and creativity with mindful regard to a project schedule with strong sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of UL standards and compliance standards such as FCC, EMI, and CEC.
- Applied experience in project, timeline, and budget management
