About the role

  • Develop comprehensive electroacoustic test plans and validation strategies for loudspeakers, transducers, and integrated audio systems.
  • Design and implement automated and manual acoustic test setups for R&D validation and production environments.
  • Perform detailed acoustic measurements including frequency response, distortion (THD), impedance, sensitivity, and polarity.
  • Conduct nearfield, farfield, and ground-plane measurements in lab and field environments.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of acoustic performance issues using measurement microphones, audio analyzers, environmental chambers, laser vibrometry, and related instrumentation.
  • Develop and maintain automated acoustic test scripts using Python.
  • Implement data acquisition, storage, and reporting systems to improve measurement consistency and traceability.
  • Design and maintain acoustic test fixtures, jigs, and microphone positioning systems for repeatable measurements.
  • Partner with transducer, DSP, electrical, and mechanical engineers to influence design-for-acoustic-performance (DFAP) and design-for-testability (DFT).
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure production test coverage, yield optimization, and acoustic consistency.
  • Document all test results, procedures, engineering findings, and validation reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in electroacoustic testing, loudspeaker validation, or acoustic system development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with acoustic measurement systems (Audio Precision, Klippel, SoundCheck, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency with measurement of microphones, calibrators, anechoic or quasi-anechoic measurement techniques.
  • Solid understanding of loudspeaker theory, transducer behavior, enclosure acoustics, and basic DSP concepts.
  • Experience developing automated test systems using Python, or similar tools.
  • Ability to interpret acoustic data and correlate performance to electrical and mechanical root causes.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support NPI projects and provide on-site support at contract manufacturers.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up and move equipment up to 50lbs.
Benefits
  • health care
  • dental coverage
  • vision plans
  • 401K benefits
