About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You are responsible for ensuring optimal supply and inventory planning for distribution centres and hubs within your assigned category.
- You balance service levels, availability targets, and contractual supplier agreements while safeguarding stock efficiency across the network.
- You manage replenishment planning, container and long-term supply planning, and urgent supply issue resolution.
- Maintain and improve forecasts and replenishment parameters in planning systems.
- Follow up on supplier performance (OTIF, lead times, MOQ, delivery issues).
- Monitor inbound flows, orders, and stock positions daily.
- Manage promotions and seasonal supply readiness.
- Lead supplier performance discussions and resolve structural supply issues.
- Analyse root causes and propose continuous improvement actions.
- Contribute to tactical pre-season planning (allocation, OTB, replenishment strategy).
- Support projects such as inventory optimisation and system improvements.
- Act as senior team member, stepping in for the Unit Planning Manager when needed.
- Coach and onboard new planners.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A completed Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Supply Chain or similar
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, merchandising, or similar roles within retail or trading environments (retail experience is mandatory or strong retail connection required)
- Strong Excel skills and high affinity with data and numbers
- Experience with DC replenishment systems (e.g. Slimstock, Symphony) is a plus (knowledge is preferred)
- Experience with article forecasting is preferred
- Experience in international retail or high-volume operational environments is an advantage
- Strong stakeholder management experience across commercial, buying, logistics and supplier environments
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken) with Dutch being a BIG plus.
