About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
- Review, approve, and reconcile payroll data, including timekeeping records, overtime, shift differentials, paid leave, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits.
- Ensure payroll processes are completed in compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for complex payroll-related issues and escalated employee inquiries.
- Administer payroll-related employee lifecycle transactions, including new hires, separations, compensation changes, bonuses, promotions, and benefit deductions.
- Track all company actions and reporting to ensure compliance with the IRA and report on compliance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support payroll and operations team to ensure prevailing wage standards are met.
- Monitor regulatory changes impacting payroll and implement process modifications as required.
- Prepare payroll reports, labor distribution reports, workforce analytics, and job-costing data for leadership.
- Analyze payroll trends and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5–7 years of progressive payroll experience, including ownership of multi-state payroll processing.
- Experience managing payroll for organizations with 200+ employees.
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, payroll tax regulations, and federal and state wage-and-hour laws.
- Demonstrated experience with prevailing wage requirements and certified payroll reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data reconciliation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
