About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform identification and inspection of trees along utility lines
Document work using handheld computers and GIS-integrated software
Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers
Balance safety, budgetary, and community-relations concerns
Prioritize the safety of yourself and your team
Work on short-term projects, quick start-ups, storm work, and fill-in positions across Florida
Travel overnight and extensively within Florida, including assignments lasting 6 to 8 weeks

Requirements

What you’ll need

2- or 4-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or a closely related field, or 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or a related field in lieu of a degree
High school diploma or GED required, or 5 years of experience in lieu of a high school diploma or GED
Strong tree identification preferred
Experience in utility vegetation management preferred
ISA Certified Arborist preferred but not required
Pesticide certification preferred but not required
Able to travel extensively, 6 to 8 weeks at a time
Able to do overnight travel within Florida
Valid driver license required
Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with GIS-integrated data collection software/hardware preferred
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and dynamic terrain
Self-motivated, organized, and production oriented
Comfortable working independently and managing a geographical area for vegetation-related activities
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
