About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, inspect, and evaluate vegetation and brush along utility lines
  • Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate assigned clearance crew activities
  • Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues
  • Serve as liaison between clients, work crews, and client customers
  • Perform real-time crew checks
  • Obtain estimates, build schedules, and set up contractor work
  • Travel to other areas when necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2- or 4-year degree in Rangeland Management, Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or closely related field, or 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field in lieu of a degree
  • Vegetation management experience preferred
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • GIS-integrated data collection software/hardware experience preferred but not required
  • Self-motivated, organized, and production-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a geographical area for vegetation-related activities
  • Ability to work with stakeholders, utility customers, and line-clearance vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Multitasking and strong time-management skills
  • Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to hike for lengthy periods to access lines throughout the region
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to drive long distances in a company vehicle
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check required
