About the role

  • Reports to the Operations Manager at Bermex and directs personnel, staffing, training, planning, and oversees operations and fiscal health
  • Manage and maintain workforce, ensuring health and safety of the workforce
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and supplies
  • Ensure vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and proper working condition
  • Ensure productivity levels through effective monitoring of staffing levels and financial requirements
  • Develop an employee-oriented company culture emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, retention and development
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding
  • Guide personnel to achieve optimum performance levels
  • Follow fleet standards and vehicle operating policies; control maintenance and repair of vehicles
  • Train personnel on safety and accident prevention programs and adhere to company safety procedures
  • Collaborate with management to formulate departmental goals, strategies, policies and direct implementation
  • Prepare department forecast, monitor expenses, and maintain records and reports related to meter reading
  • Complete quality control audits on field personnel monthly
  • Make recommendations regarding employment actions (performance appraisal, salary changes, promotions, transfers, terminations)
  • Provide written communication on economy/efficiency of operations, quality control, scheduling, and client relationships
  • Work with HR to recruit, interview, select, hire and employ appropriate number of employees
  • Refer consumer complaints to appropriate authorities and ensure timely resolution; train employees on conflict resolution
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of leadership experience in electric, water, and/or gas meter installation management
  • Upon hire, candidate must complete and pass all Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training
  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management or Business Administration (nice to have)
  • 2+ years of experience in electric, water, and/or gas meter installation management or a similar supervisory role (nice to have)
  • 1 year of continuous work with the same employer and/or 6 or more months working outdoors (nice to have)
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently and as a team
  • Exceptional flexibility in daily routines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable interacting with management and customers
  • Ability to interact with unhappy or negative customers in a professional manner
  • Excellent attention to detail for problem solving and finding
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 360 (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Drug/alcohol testing is required per non-regulatory and Federal DOT regulations (as applicable)
