About the role
- Provide expertise in safety and health to help prevent and reduce employee injuries and illnesses
- Support clients and their field management in developing effective safety programs
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies
- Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and work practices
- Conduct safety program needs assessments to identify deficiencies and recommend actions
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Facilitate and document required safety training for employees, supervisors, and temporary workers
- Conduct safety meetings and training programs for client employees
- Assist with branch, facility, field, and job‑site safety inspections
- Perform job hazard analyses to identify workplace hazards
- Coach and guide employees and management on safety compliance and safe work practices
- Participate in client safety initiatives and meetings
- Investigate and document incidents involving employees or company property
- Support OSHA recordkeeping requirements and safety incentive programs
- Travel and stay overnight as required (up to 50%)
Requirements
- In-depth safety and loss control knowledge with hands-on field experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to clearly communicate safety concepts verbally and in writing
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk and recommend practical solutions
- Ability to prepare clear, formal incident and investigation reports
- Experience reviewing and staying current on OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Comfortable working independently, managing changing priorities, and maintaining strong client relationships
- OSHA 500 & 501 Authorized Outreach Trainer (required)
- 5+ years of related experience in Safety and Loss Control
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) preferred
