About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans supporting business initiatives, change management efforts, and special projects
  • Write, edit, and review content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, brand alignment, and style-guide compliance
  • Create communications that build awareness, foster understanding, and encourage action
  • Support communications for sensitive, confidential, or high-visibility topics
  • Develop content for internal and external channels, including associate communications, leadership messaging, newsletters, and digital content
  • Manage and produce the bi-weekly leadership newsletter, including content, timelines, reviews, and distribution
  • Provide communications guidance and counsel to organizational stakeholders
  • Support editorial planning and maintain an annual content calendar
  • Measure communication effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
  • Support department budget activities, invoice tracking, and administrative tasks
  • Partner with external communications teams to support integrated communications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, integrated communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 2+ years of experience in communications, corporate communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Experience developing communications for audiences across multiple locations or business groups
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills
  • Ability to adapt tone and messaging by audience and channel
  • Understanding of professional communications standards, brand voice, style guides, and corporate communication best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as a proactive self-starter
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and partner with stakeholders across departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience in corporate communications or a public relations agency environment preferred
  • Experience in CPG, retail, manufacturing, foodservice, or related industries preferred
  • Experience developing and executing multi-channel content strategies preferred
  • Knowledge of content management systems and digital publishing processes preferred
  • Social media content development, monitoring, and performance insights preferred
  • Media relations and story pitching experience preferred
  • Experience supporting video, digital tools, or other communication technologies preferred
  • Ability to analyze communication performance and translate results into recommendations
