About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The BSA will represent the business community and IT to solicit, analyze, document, and prioritize business processes, proactively identify opportunities for improvement and delivering a resolution.
- Partner with all levels of the organization and external parties to understand and document business requirements, processes and workflows developing both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows.
- Work with developers to write functional and technical specifications that achieve those requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to the developers building those functions, and work with the QA team to test the developed functionality.
- Negotiate agreements and commitments between business partners (internal and external) and IT from initial request and requirements gathering through to implementation, support, and maintenance.
- Be the Business/SME liaison back to the business leadership or IT Staff to influence, manage change, and educate for priority setting to ensure business commitments and objectives are met.
- Lead cross-functional work sessions with both the business and IT customers to capture stakeholder needs and required system requirements/features.
- Collaborate with PM’s in creating the Project Charter, SLAs, and Statements of Work.
- Evaluate the impact of potential software and process changes on the organization.
- Lead development, documentation, and analysis of detailed functional and/or technical requirements.
- Lead small to medium projects/change initiatives with Business, Vendors, and IT.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7 – 10 years of experience as a business analyst designing technical business processes with a strong understanding of application programming, database, and system design.
- 5+ years of experience in integrating applications in both On-prem and Cloud environments.
- 5+ years of experience of working in various sizes of application development/enhancement projects.
- Expertise in business processes and technology solutions.
- Experience in Programming environment - NET, Javascript frameworks, HTML 5/CSS.
- Working knowledge in SQL and Oracle DB environment.
- Experience in leveraging API’s.
- Experience in UI design.
- Experience in conducting various types of Testing and associated testing cycles.
- Experience in ERP environment is a plus – Finance or HR in a distributed environment – Retail, Hospitality, Distribution, Warehousing.
- Experience in working with packaged ERP applications like Oracle, Salesforce, SAP is a plus.
- Good working knowledge of client server architectures.
- Demonstrated strong background in preparing As-Is process documentation, To-Be process documentation, and performing detailed gap analysis.
- Expertise in generating reports and dashboards measuring business KPIs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (written & oral).
