About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and drive the global customer engagement strategy
  • Support strategic customer, builder, and OEM relationships across all regions
  • Influence project specifications and solution design through early-stage engagement
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the global Field Applications Engineering team
  • Establish consistent engagement methodologies, technical practices, and customer-facing standards
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, best-practice adoption, and succession planning
  • Own the global vehicle commissioning quality framework, including standards, sign-off procedures, and quality gates
  • Coordinate field application activities across multiple regions and projects
  • Allocate engineering resources globally and own the Field Applications function budget
  • Monitor project execution against technical standards and delivery expectations
  • Escalate and resolve technical and operational risks
  • Establish frameworks to assess builder and OEM technical capabilities
  • Drive customer self-sufficiency and technical maturity initiatives
  • Identify capability gaps and develop improvement programmes, training, and support strategies
  • Support development and delivery of professional services, managed services, and pre-configured solutions
  • Identify and develop revenue-generating services with Technical and Commercial leadership
  • Collaborate on technical standards, governance, quality metrics, and continuous improvement
  • Align commercial commitments with technical delivery capabilities
  • Monitor project outcomes, customer feedback, and team performance
  • Lead lessons-learned reviews and corrective actions
  • Develop standardised processes, templates, and methodologies
  • Represent ACETECH’s technical partnership capability to senior builder and OEM stakeholders
  • Report to the Director of Technical Partnerships and collaborate with Technical and Commercial Directors and the Field Applications Quality Representative

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8–12 years’ experience in technical consulting, applications engineering, systems integration, or related disciplines
  • Substantial leadership experience managing technical teams, including through supervisory or team-lead tiers
  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills with builders, OEMs, integrators, or industrial customers
  • Proven project management and resource planning capability across multiple concurrent projects or regions
  • Demonstrable departmental budget or P&L ownership experience
  • Ability to balance commercial objectives with technical nuances
  • Prior experience managing globally distributed teams across multiple regions or time zones is desirable
  • Experience developing professional or managed services revenue streams is desirable
  • Experience in emergency services, public safety, or blue-light vehicle sectors is desirable
  • Degree at Level 7 or above on Ireland’s NFQ, or internationally recognised equivalent, in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience at management level
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Valid passport for frequent international travel
  • Formal management qualification such as ILM, CIPD, or an MBA module is desirable
  • Project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2, or recognised leadership/management certification, is desirable
  • English required
  • Additional languages highly desirable
