About the role

Primary caretaker of platforms, networks, and databases keeping ACD Direct running 24×7; apply DevOps practices to streamline build and release processes
Operate, monitor, and harden hybrid infrastructure (Azure + two on-prem data-centers)
Administer Microsoft SQL Server: backups, tuning, High Availability/DR, and SSIS jobs
Manage Windows & Linux servers, patching, capacity planning, and performance troubleshooting
Own Azure AD / on-prem AD: users, groups, GPOs, conditional access, and SSO integrations
Maintain endpoint compliance (PCI DSS), vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness
Create and maintain runbooks, diagrams, and CMDB records
Provide Tier-3 escalation for incidents and perform root-cause analysis
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Functions, Containers, and web apps; codify infrastructure with Bicep or Terraform and promote via pull requests
Automate repetitive tasks with Python or PowerShell (build scripts, health checks, self-healing jobs)
Collaborate with Developers & QA to shorten release cycles and improve rollback safety
Monitor dashboards, respond to alerts, drive MTTR down, and evolve observability stack
Review infrastructure PRs, enforce coding standards, and champion security-as-code
Execute DR tests and capacity drills; refine RPO/RTO targets
Tune SQL queries, indexes, and ETL jobs supporting fundraising workloads
Perform other related duties as assigned by management

4+ years in TechOps/SysAdmin or Site Reliability roles supporting Windows & Linux in production
Hands-on SQL Server expertise (query tuning, Always On AG, maintenance plans, SSIS jobs)
Strong Azure background: VMs, VNets, Functions, Storage, Monitoring, Defender, Policy
Scripting skills in Python (preferred) or PowerShell for automation and data wrangling
Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps & GitHub Actions) and IaC (Bicep, ARM, or Terraform)
Working knowledge of Active Directory / Azure AD & hybrid identity, GPOs, conditional access, and SSO integrations
Familiarity with containers (Docker, AKS or Azure Container Apps) and Git workflows
Solid grasp of PCI DSS or similar compliance and vulnerability remediation
Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus/Grafana)
Bachelor’s in CS/IT or equivalent real-world track record
Self-starter mentality and excellent written communication in a fully remote setting
Applicant preferred to be located within a 50 mile radius of Salt Lake City, Utah; position requires quarterly data center visits
