About the role
- Provide high level support to several Controllers by assisting with various client related financial tasks and responsibilities
- Contribute to financial analysis, develop KPIs, and maintain reporting dashboards
- Research industry-specific benchmarks and prepare commentary using Profit Cents and other data
- Prepare and analyze financial models using sensitivity analysis and other analytical techniques
- Review and approve various tax forms (sales & use tax, franchise tax, occupancy tax)
- Complete annual tax return reconciliation to the accounting records and recommend adjustments
- Assist with 1099, W-2 and fringe benefit issues
- Assist external auditors and controllers in providing required documentation for client audits and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with client tax advisors and assist Controller with special projects
- Review and interpret legal documents for proper accounting treatment (contracts, leases, covenants, debt agreements)
- Serve as additional resource for Supervisor team during client transitions and provide feedback to Controllers
- Assist in implementing third-party applications and accounting-related changes
- Attend Controller group meetings and participate in client meetings
- Some travel for training and team meetings may be required
- Perform other duties and special ad hoc projects as assigned
Requirements
- 7 years relevant accounting experience (ideal)
- Minimum 1 year of CPA firm or outsourced accounting experience (preferred)
- Must have worked in the Sr. Accounting Specialist role for a minimum of 4 months as a new ADC employee
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting related field
- Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, SaasAnt and Sage Intacct (or willingness to learn)
- Experience with third-party applications such as Bill.com, TPI, Tallie, Team Work and budgeting & forecasting applications (or willingness to learn)
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel
- Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and tax regulations
- Demonstrated experience with financial systems and data query tools
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Ability to acclimate to multiple personalities and management styles and exhibit emotional intelligence
- Self-starter able to work independently with minimal direction
- Strong emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoys working in a telecommuting environment, including use of Zoom meetings
- 100% Remote, W-2 position
