About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and analyze credit scoring metrics and risk ratings to identify material credit strengths and weaknesses and provide timely credit decisions
  • Support credit decisions using scoring models and supplementary data from commercial and personal credit reporting agencies and web resources
  • Spread and analyze financial statements and incorporate relevant financial metrics into credit reviews
  • Review and decide transactions within assigned authority and recommend transactions exceeding assigned authority
  • Monitor credit lines and complete credit line renewals
  • Structure and document credit approvals consistent with risk management guidelines
  • Review and approve contract-term changes within assigned authority
  • Advise sales teams on pended applications and facilitate obtaining credit and financial information
  • Update system comments on credit application status
  • Resolve dealer and customer concerns while maintaining risk management standards
  • Develop relationships with sales teams and end user customers
  • Negotiate complex credits and lease structures
  • Mentor junior credit team members
  • Complete assigned training
  • Facilitate credit scoring model maintenance and updates with the IT department
  • Contribute to application turnaround, approval ratio, delinquency, charge-off, follow-up, and appeal-resolution goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in finance or a related subject
  • At least 5 years of related work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of automated credit scoring and financial modeling
  • Knowledge of business and consumer scoring model development, adjustments, and maintenance
  • Ability to negotiate and close structured approvals for challenging credits
  • Clear understanding of equipment lease operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively to resolve issues professionally
  • Working knowledge of lease accounting systems
  • Team player and self-starter with high energy, positive outlook, and professional demeanor
  • Career-oriented with focus on growth in the equipment finance business
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete assignments accurately within expected time frames in a high-volume environment
  • Working knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including rapport building, listening, and questioning skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment supporting East, Central, and West zones
  • Ability to complete special projects as assigned
  • Inventory Finance and/or Hard Asset underwriting experience and Broker experience are a plus
  • Bank credit training or other formal credit training is a plus
