About the role

  • You’ll manage and oversee daily labor compliance activities across assigned projects, ensuring adherence to state and federal prevailing wage laws, including the California Labor Code and the Federal Davis-Bacon Act.
  • You’ll review and verify certified payroll records, fringe benefit statements, apprenticeship documentation, and training contributions for accuracy and compliance.
  • You’ll ensure timely and accurate submission of certified payroll through required systems (e.g., DIR-mandated platforms and LCP-certified software) and monitor required compliance documents such as DAS 140s, DAS 142s, and related forms, addressing contractor deficiencies as needed.
  • You’ll provide functional guidance, mentorship, and quality review for Senior Labor Compliance Associates and other compliance staff, without direct responsibility for department-wide staffing decisions.
  • You’ll perform secondary reviews of audits, underpayment calculations, penalties, and corrective actions prior to escalation to the Director of Labor Compliance.
  • You’ll support investigations into labor compliance complaints—including prevailing wage, benefit, and apprenticeship violations—and assist in compiling complete case documentation.
  • You’ll serve as a primary point of contact for contractors regarding compliance questions, corrective actions, and document deficiencies.
  • You’ll participate in pre-bid meetings, pre-construction conferences, and project meetings to explain labor compliance obligations and expectations, and coordinate with internal teams (payroll, project management, legal, and document control) to ensure consistent compliance practices.
  • You’ll prepare and review monthly labor compliance reports for accuracy prior to submission to Project Managers, Clients, or the Director of Labor Compliance, and escalate high-risk issues, repeat violations, or complex regulatory interpretations as needed.
  • You’ll maintain organized and auditable digital and hardcopy compliance records, perform field interviews, and other duties as assigned.
