About the role

  • You’ll organize details and manage time to meet required objectives, participate in project planning and scheduling meetings, and attend project meetings, field walkdowns, and calls.
  • You’ll review IFA design packages for functionality and constructability, and review IFC design packages and perform detailed Q/C of schematic and S&C drawings.
  • You’ll develop a detailed installation and commissioning test plan based on outage sequence, coordinate with project team members, and generate Apparatus test letters, Relay test letters, energization phase-out sequences, and High Risk Evolution documents (when applicable).
  • You’ll develop secondary blocking plans, attend approval meetings, and develop work instructions to support panel wiring associated with critical activities.
  • You’ll brief the responsible CM on the overall project work sequence based on outages, review the approved secondary blocking plan prior to the start of field work, identify critical work activities with the CM and installer, direct this work as determined by the project team/plan, and participate in secondary blocking activities in support of the CM and installer.
  • You’ll monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with BGE standards and project documentation, while assisting with quality assurance and safety requirements.
  • You’ll support the energization of new or modified equipment and coordinate phase-out activities with responsible testing personnel.
  • You’ll verify completion of ready-to-start procedures before equipment energization and develop a punch list for commissioning prior to turnover.
  • You’ll support the CM with incorporation of as-built field changes Remote & onsite and design as-built drawings, and vendor documents, and assist the CM in resolving design, construction, and test exceptions with the LRE; review test results and coordinate any required retesting.
  • Support integration of new DA (Distribution Automation) equipment into existing Auto Restoration Schemes (ARS), updating system configurations, accordingly, completing required CEMI4R ADHOC enhancements, and performing MOS integration activities to support improved grid reliability and automation per the following objectives:
  • Ensure seamless integration of newly deployed DA devices into ARS
  • Update ARS configurations to reflect new equipment or changes in field topology
  • Execute CEMI4R ADHOC work to improve customer reliability metrics
  • Support and complete MOS ARS integration to enable accurate automation and switching operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent combination of Education and Utility Experience in a specialized technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Relay / Control Testing & Commissioning Engineer with significant substation, transmission, and distribution experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
