About the role
- Validate new product approval requests from Members, ensuring the completion of the product governance process and supporting artefacts.
- Ensure the target market is well defined and associated risks have been evaluated.
- Validate significant adaptations, or withdrawals of existing products.
- Ensure the coordination and fulfilment of scheduled product reviews and fair value assessments.
- Obtain all required stakeholder approvals as part of completing each product lifecycle process.
- Maintain oversight of product, customer outcomes and risk indicators.
- Provide timely expertise and support to all colleagues and Members as required.
- Collate product governance related reporting for the Product Oversight & Governance Committee, Management Committee and Company Boards including KPIs.
- Maintain the product approval tracker and product register.
- Support with the collation and submission of regulatory reporting returns.
- Use Accelerant’s Analytics Platform to extract insights and monitor performance.
- Support with the timely and accurate delivery of product governance information to Accelerant ‘Risk Exchange’ partners.
- Support in maintaining Accelerant’s product governance policies, processes and guidance documentation.
- Identify and manage opportunities for continuous improvement for processes, controls and stakeholder engagements.
- Stay abreast of market and regulatory developments and ensure adherence to Accelerant’s standards.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all interactions.
Requirements
- A confident understanding of PROD, Consumer Duty, and EU equivalent product governance standards.
- Familiarity with commercial and personal lines insurance products.
- Strong organisational Skills – an ability to prioritise workload, deliver tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communicator — articulate, persuasive and comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Communication (written) – ability to write clear, precise and well organised documents.
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting MI and regulatory data.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously within a geographically dispersed team.
- Collaborative problem solver who enjoys connecting teams and driving results.
- Demonstrable related experience in product governance, conduct risk, delegated authority management, or underwriting governance within an insurer, MGA, or broker.
- Good understanding of the insurance market and regulatory landscape.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with insurance analytics platforms and performance data.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, collaboration and CRM tools.
- Track record of identifying and implementing process or performance improvements.
- Higher education.
- Professional qualification, e.g. CII (or progress toward it) desirable.
- Excellent written and spoken English; other European languages are an advantage.
