About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work closely with school grade-level teams and wraparound supports to support positive student behaviors
  • Conduct Functional Assessments using multiple data and information sources, including formal and informal observation of behaviors interfering with learning
  • Develop Behavior Support Plans based on positive behavioral supports and ethical, proactive, person-centered approaches
  • Track the effectiveness of Behavior Support Plans through behavioral data analysis and revise plans as necessary
  • Train and model practices for staff implementing Behavior Support Plans and instructional strategies
  • Promote student prosocial skill development through group instruction and individualized supports
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Limited License Master's Social Worker with full or temporary School Social Work approval by State of Indiana
  • Indiana residency preferred
  • Prior experience developing Functional Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Strong knowledge of community resources for individuals with emotional needs
  • Ability to identify barriers to student growth and analyze complex situations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, families, agencies, and the public
  • Virtual student-support experience preferred
  • Proficiency in writing reports and maintaining records
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to communicate under stressful conditions
  • Effective organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong sense of integrity
  • Team-player attitude
  • Ability to work in a diverse educational community
  • Satisfactory completion of state-required criminal history check
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds
