About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide high-quality virtual speech-language therapy services to K-12 students across multiple states
- Conduct standardized and non-standardized assessments and analyze results
- Write reports addressing motor speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, literacy, and dysphagia
- Develop strength-based, child- and family-centered treatment plans
- Ensure IEP, evaluation, and progress-monitoring procedures follow district, state, and federal guidelines
- Collect daily data and adapt treatment based on student-performance trends
- Attend IEP and evaluation meetings and provide timely documentation
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other members of students’ educational teams
- Align treatment objectives with Common Core Standards
- Develop, follow, and communicate daily schedules to building leaders and department supervisors
- Attend staff meetings and pursue professional development related to state-board licensure and student or caseload needs
- Facilitate student communication across all modes and levels of language
- Participate in building-based intervention processes supporting students and teachers
- Use district software for special-education compliance and accountability reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional Ohio Speech Language Pathologist license is required
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google applications, email, and internet applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas
- Genuine care for children and passion for teaching
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data for educational decisions
- Flexibility with decision-making, daily challenges, and job duties
- Strong sense of integrity
- Team-player attitude
- Ability to work in a diverse educational community setting
- Understanding of the community and student demographics
- Understanding of state proficiency testing and state teaching standards
- Satisfactory completion of a state-required criminal history check and health tests
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds
