About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic interim coverage across open sales territories nationwide
- Manage assigned territories while promoting a specialized Neurology product to Movement Disorder Specialists and Neurologists
- Provide value and service to help providers identify and start appropriate patients on therapy
- Educate physicians, staff, and healthcare professionals on Acadia products and address questions, objections, and concerns
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders and coordinate issue resolution with internal stakeholders
- Analyze sales potential and execute territory plans, including call activity, business meals, speaker programs, and approved activities
- Develop, evaluate, and adjust quarterly business and action plans
- Provide pricing and reimbursement guidance and liaise between customers and Acadia
- Submit timely reports, maintain accurate expense records, and comply with regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with sales leadership, regional and area teammates, and cross-functional partners
- Attend conferences, trainings, meetings, exhibits, and product launches
- Participate in leadership activities, mentoring, field training, cross-functional projects, and meeting training activities
- Represent Acadia’s culture, mission, and values and meet or exceed sales expectations
- Build customer relationships and provide disease, product, and reimbursement information
- Provide approved customer resources, including product samples, clinical trial data, and patient brochures
- Manage relationships with key opinion leaders, speakers, medical societies, advocacy groups, long-term care facilities, payers, and pharmacists
- Develop neuroscience and Acadia product knowledge and understand local and regional market trends
- Pursue ongoing development and establish subject-matter expertise in the neuroscience medical community
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in life sciences preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered
- Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience preferred
- Ability to travel 90% of the time and live in assigned geographies for 1–6 months at a time
- Must be in good standing with the FDA and OIG
- Demonstrated selling skills and ability to dialogue effectively with customers
- Ability to quickly build relationships with key customers and networks within the neuroscience community
- Must live within the assigned territory in temporary housing paid for by Acadia and relocate every 3–6 months as business needs dictate
- Exceptional disease-state and product knowledge
- Strong persuasive selling and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to assess territory opportunities and customer needs and maximize impact in a short time frame
- Ability to learn and apply technical/scientific knowledge and business analyses
- Organization, initiative, and self-motivation
- Professionalism, integrity, policy compliance, ability to work in a highly regulated environment, and ability to maintain confidential information and data
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Compliance with the Company Fleet Management Program, including periodic DMV reviews
- Ability to drive a company-provided car extensively and travel overnight and by air as required
- Ability to travel independently overnight and work after hours as required
- Ability to temporarily live within the territory for 3–6 months at a time
- Convenient access to a major airport may be required depending on territory geography
