About the role

  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of Specialty Sales Specialists to achieve sales goals.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and coach team members; set performance expectations and conduct documented performance reviews.
  • Address performance issues promptly, partnering with HR as needed.
  • Foster a customer-centric, results-driven culture and build strong relationships with key customers and decision makers.
  • Conduct regular in-person field visits to observe sales calls and provide real-time feedback.
  • Create and track individualized development plans and partner with Commercial Effectiveness Training for onboarding and skill development.
  • Provide actionable market feedback to Marketing, Market Access, and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with national strategy.
  • Manage regional budget, track ROI, analyze sales performance and market trends, and take corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to regional team to impact regional performance and company results.
  • Travel independently overnight as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required- Business, Life Sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including sales or relevant cross-functional roles (e.g., marketing, training, market access). (Sr RSM: 8 years)
  • At least 2 years of sales management experience required. (Sr RSM: 5 years required)
  • Neuroscience and specialty sales experience are strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams to exceed sales targets, manage performance, and have direct, documented performance discussions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence, inspire, and motivate individuals toward achieving goals.
  • Skilled at verbal and written performance evaluations and formal documentation of employee performance.
  • Business acumen to identify future opportunities and anticipate customer needs.
  • Must live within the boundaries of the assigned region and near a major airport.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Travel up to 80% of the time and ability to work after hours when required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
