About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare daily / monthly deposit insurance reporting for submission to CoDI.
  • Prepare responses to queries raised by CoDI.
  • Prepare other internal management information reports to monitor, manage and mitigate data quality risk.
  • Prepare management information dashboards / packs for committee meetings.
  • Drive and deliver deposit insurance data quality and process optimisation initiatives.
  • Perform detailed analysis on key depositor insurance data.
  • Develop an internal network within Absa Bank.
  • Provide support for meetings with auditors, ratings agencies and other parties as required.
  • Assist with production of presentations on topics related to depositor insurance and liquidity risk.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant degree in Maths/Finance/Risk Management
  • Prior banking experience (Treasury environment preferable)
  • Skilled in data manipulation
  • Innovative thinker/problem solver
  • Broad understanding of banking
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Understanding of financial markets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of LUM (data ETL tool) and PowerBI would be advantageous
